Bufo Alvarius Immersion | A Private Sanctuary Experience
With Kate McCabe
November 14, 2026
Nestled in the heart of the Mayan jungle just outside Tulum, Pixan Sanctuary offers an intimate and deeply personal Bufo Alvarius experience in a peaceful, private natural setting. Unlike ceremonies that follow a rigid schedule, our approach emphasizes thoughtful preparation, a safe and supportive ceremonial environment, and the time and space needed to rest, reflect, and integrate your experience.
We invite you to spend at least six hours with us, with no pressure to rush through any part of the process. We believe that the time surrounding the ceremony is just as important as the ceremony itself.
Preparation and Ceremony
Your journey begins before you arrive at Pixan Sanctuary. Every guest completes a comprehensive medical and psychological intake, followed by a private preparation call to discuss intentions, answer questions, and ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and prepared for the experience.
Upon arrival, we take time to connect, settle into the sanctuary, and prepare for the ceremony. Each Bufo Alvarius ceremony is facilitated with individual attention, care, and respect for the deeply personal nature of the experience. Our focus is on creating a safe, grounded, and supportive environment where you can approach the medicine with trust and intention.
A Personalized Experience, Guided by You
At Pixan Sanctuary, we believe that every journey is unique, and your time with us should reflect that. Rather than following a rigid schedule, we invite you to help shape your day according to your own needs, intentions, and comfort.
Our sanctuary is home to a beautiful private cenote and a secluded cave, both offering opportunities for swimming, meditation, and quiet reflection. You may choose to begin your day with a refreshing swim in the cenote, spend time meditating in the cave, or simply relax and connect with the natural surroundings before your ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the pace slows to allow for rest, reflection, and gentle integration. A nourishing vegetarian meal is included to help you feel grounded and replenished, with plenty of time to relax and process your experience.
We ask that you plan to spend at least six hours with us, although you are welcome to take additional time if needed. There is no rush and no rigid itinerary. While the ceremony and necessary preparation are carefully guided, the rest of your day is intentionally flexible, allowing your experience to unfold naturally.
Our intention is to offer more than a ceremony. We want you to feel at home in the sanctuary, free to explore, rest, reconnect with nature, and move through the day at your own pace.
Continuing Your Journey
Integration does not end when you leave the sanctuary. Each guest receives a take-home integration journal and a private follow-up integration call, typically two days after the ceremony. This provides an opportunity to reflect on your experience, discuss any challenges or insights, and explore ways to bring what you have learned into everyday life.
At Pixan Sanctuary, we believe that meaningful transformation deserves time, attention, and care. Our intention is not simply to offer a ceremony, but to create a complete experience where preparation, ceremony, nature, nourishment, and integration come together in a supportive and intentional setting.
Come prepared to spend at least six hours with us. There is no rush, no pressure, and no expectation of how your experience should unfold.
